The Guriezo Valley is located in the eastern part of the Cantabric shore between the summer cities of Laredo and Castro Urdiales. Endowed with wonderful scenery, it is the ideal place for sports practice and nature watching. The Agüera river crosses the valley providing excellent rowing sites and flows into the sea through a beach surrounded estuary. Multiple festivals take place in the area in summertime.

     The Posada Valle de Guriezo, located at the very entrance of the valley, is the ideal start point to visit eastern Cantabria and the Basque Country. Five minutes away from Autovía del Norte (A-8) it is within short travel time of many interesting sites such as the Bilbao Guggenheim Museum (just 35 min. away) or the prehistoric Caves of Altamira. The Way of St. James passes in front of the Posada.
